City Museum Weiz

The Museum Weiz sees itself as a “city museum” and thus as a central facility for the city's cultural life. The city archive and city museum have set themselves the goal of being the (cultural) historical memory of the city and its citizens.

The clear conveyance of our city history is one of the most important tasks of the museum. A special feature is the history of the electrical industry in Weiz. The pioneering work of the Weiz engineer Franz Pichler and the development of this branch of industry, which was decisive for the development of the city, are unique in Austria. The museum will thus make an important contribution to the understanding of history, art and historical living environments in Weiz.
