Castle Park Pöllau
Pöllau
The castle park in Pöllau with its wonderful flowers from spring to autumn is perfect for all ages.
Originally serving as a recreation area for the Augustinian canons, the castle park in the Pöllauer Tal Nature Park provided relaxation and space for various leisure activities. Today, the approximately 40,000 m2 castle park still invites visitors to relax and serves as a starting point for hikes in the nature park. Flowers bloom here almost all year round, and the children's playground right next to the guest garden of the park café is perfect for cozy afternoons. The spacious park facility offers the opportunity to visit the information station Hirschbirn hirsch'n.
An open-air classroom in the western, slightly elevated part of the park provides a magnificent view of the parish church of Pöllau and the pilgrimage church of Pöllauberg, while a root demonstration station offers a deep insight into root systems and soil life.
"SAM" stands for "Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark" and fills the mobility gap where buses and trains do not operate. The nearest SAM stop near the castle park is HF 5943 (Pöllau/Castle-Zwinger), you can find more stops here.
