In the Almenland Nature Park in Eastern Styria there is a small but fine cross-country skiing area that makes the hearts of all athletes beat faster. Because here you can not only run your laps in a very relaxed way, but at the same time explore the wintry alpine landscape while the sun shines on your face. The total of 21 kilometers of cross-country trails have been awarded the "Styrian Cross Country Seal of Approval".
The sunny trails between Teichalm and Sommeralm in the Naturpark Almenland are very popular cross-country skiing routes in Styria. In addition to a vast view of the region, they also offer excellent accessibility: It takes only one hour from the state capital Graz to reach the white winter paradise.
In total, 21 kilometers offer cross-country skiers classical skiing and skating. Of these, 18 kilometers are classified as easy, while the remaining 3 kilometers have a medium difficulty. There are several different trail entrances. The equipment rental of the Reisinger Snow Sports School is located directly at Teichalm Lake. The two trails are divided between:
- Sommeralm Trail (skating & classical, circular route with approx. 16 km)
- Hochmoor Trail (skating & classical, circular route with approx. 5 km, snowmaking available)
For cross-country skiing beginners, there is also the opportunity to take private lessons at the Reisinger Snow Sports School on site. This way, you can learn this versatile sport personally and individually. And with the finest culinary offerings in the immediate vicinity, even the most beautiful cross-country skiing day can end successfully.

Interesting Facts about the Cross-Country Skiing Region
- Two trails lead over a total length of 21 kilometers on circular routes through wide parts of Teichalm.
- The Almenland trails have difficulty levels ranging from easy to medium. They are double-tracked for classical skiing and additionally equipped with a skating track.
- The elevation in the Naturpark Almenland ranges between 1,170 m and 1,300 m.
- The region is awarded the Styrian Trail Quality Seal.
- An equipment rental is available at the Teichalm lifts.
- Free parking is available directly at Teichalm Lake.
- From the first overnight stay in Fladnitz (Monday to Friday, excluding holiday periods and public holidays), cross-country skiing and skiing are free for guests.
- Children up to 16 years can also use the trails for free.

- If there is a lack of natural snow, the Hochmoor Trail (5 km) will be snowed. The prerequisites for this are suitable temperatures and some natural snow (base) so that the trails can be well covered. Please pay attention to the current winter sports information on Bergfex or www.almenland.at
