Two virtuosos merge their creative powers:
The Gypsy jazz guitarist Diknu Schneeberger and the stylistic jack-of-all-trades on the accordion, Christian Bakanic.
Firmly anchored in the international music scene, they are forging a new path together, characterized by technical excellence and musical ingenuity. Categorization: impossible! They create independent sound worlds that Schneeberger and Bakanic conjure up in the tension field of swinging Gypsy jazz, fiery Balkan groove, lyrical melodies, and chamber music composition forms, bringing them to life through improvisational spontaneity. Their joint debut album is titled “Avanti, avanti” – Italian for “Let’s go, forward.” It stands as a synonym for the purposeful collaboration of Schneeberger and Bakanic, supported by Martin Heinzle on double bass and Julian Wohlmuth on rhythm guitar. With their refreshing “Alpin Swing,” the quartet enchants in seconds. In the compositions of the Viennese musicians, the interplay of catchy melody and virtuosity is at the forefront. A successful blend of Gypsy swing, Balkan jazz, and new folk music allows the audience to soar turbulently yet gently through the evening, and it becomes clear after the first few bars: This quartet knows how to enchant both the heart and the ear like no other.
