Marten's debut album Eigene Art (2024) clearly showcases this signature: twelve songs that traverse melancholy, departure, and self-reflection, carried by a voice that sounds both grounded and ambitious.
With several million streams, high radio play, and a sold-out release tour, he has quickly established himself in the Austrian pop scene. His themes — love, loss, orientation, coming of age — unfold a special intimacy in the dialect. At the same time, he oscillates between two worlds: music and medical studies, heart and craft.
Marten represents a pop that is approachable, unmasked, and individual — and an artist personality that is still finding its place but already sounds remarkably clear.
Marten, born as Martin Furtlehner in Ardagger, belongs to a new generation of Austrian musicians who see dialect not as a burden of tradition but as artistic freedom. He became known in 2022 through his strong presence on Starmania, where he surprisingly reached the finals and first showcased himself to a wide audience.
