Schubert - Winterreise op 89, D 911 with Daniel Johannsen, tenor | Sascha El Mouissi, piano
From August 26 to 30, 2026, Hartberg will be the venue for LIED.Styria – The World in Songs. In five song evenings, a multifaceted musical panorama unfolds around the theme "Home and Strangeness".
The opening song evening of the new festival is dedicated to one of the most impressive works of the Romantic era: Franz Schubert's Winterreise. "A stranger I entered, a stranger I depart" marks the beginning of an existential journey characterized by uprooting and loneliness.
Performing are Daniel Johannsen, tenor, and Sascha El Mouissi, piano, two internationally renowned artists who engage deeply with this song cycle and its interpretative depth, presenting it with a special sound and artistic density. An introduction to the work will be provided by Prof. Harald Haslmayr.
Ticket sales at the citizen service of the municipality of Hartberg and via Ö-Ticket.
