Choir Concert by the Vienna Boys' Choir at Vorau Abbey

One of the most famous and oldest choirs in the world is visiting Vorau: The Vienna Boys' Choir has a long tradition. Since the 13th century, boys have been singing in the Vienna Burgkapelle. In 1498, Maximilian I moved his court along with the chapel to Vienna. Musicians like Mozart, Salieri, and Bruckner worked at the Viennese court, and Joseph Haydn, Michael Haydn, and Franz Schubert sang as boys in the court music chapel.

Under the direction of Italian musician, pianist, and conductor Niccolò Morello, who has been the conductor of the Schubert Choir of the Vienna Boys' Choir since March 2025, the boy choir will perform in the Stiftskirche Vorau with an impressive program. Under the title "Made in Austria," famous works by Johann Strauss Jr. will be presented, such as the waltz "On the Beautiful Blue Danube" or the "Emperor Waltz," the song "When You Wish upon a Star" from the Walt Disney film "Pinocchio," or "Vienna" by Billy Joel.
