The Pansion Schöller by Wilhelm Jacoby and Carl Laufs is a comedy of superlatives. And that since its world premiere over 130 years ago. With seven film adaptations so far and an uninterrupted presence in German-speaking theaters, the legendary "Schöller" has always been a showcase piece for full-blooded comedians.

The plot is as simple as it is genius: A rich uncle will only give his nephew money if he shows him a mental institution. The nephew tricks him, leading him to the Pension Schöller – and the uncle thinks all the guests there are crazy!

But it gets even more chaotic: A retired major, a curious writer, an adventurous world traveler, a crazy pilot, and an actress with a funny speech impediment confuse him. And when the "crazy" guests even pay him a visit at home, the fun really begins!
