From Vienna: A1 Westautobahn exit Ybbs via Wieselburg, Scheibbs and Lunz/See to Göstling an der Ybbs continue in the direction of Palfau, at the Erzhalden junction turn off to Wildalpen.

From Vienna, Eisenstadt: Semmeringschnellstraße S6, near Mürzzuschlag onto the B23 Mariazeller Bundesstrasse and Mürzsteg and Wegscheid to Gusswerk and on the Hochschwab Landesstrasse B24 to Wildalpen.

From Linz: A1 to Voralpenkreuz junction, A9 to Windischgarsten, Unterlaussa, Altenmarkt, Grossreifling, Palfau and Wildalpen

From Salzburg: A1 on A9 to exit Ardning/Admont, Gesäusebundesstrasse and B24 to Wildalpen

From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn, exit, Traboch (near Leoben) via Präbichl/Eisenerz, Hieflau, Landl, Gams to Palfau at the Erzhalden junction turn off to Wildalpen.

Starting from the Wildalpen municipal office, follow the LI 3 cycle path (signposted Genießer Mountainbike strecke Krumpen - Abbrenn) into Hopfgarten, past Jausenstation Karin's Stub'n and through an aqueduct of the II Vienna HochQuellen water pipeline. Here there is a connection to the Krumpen - Abbrenn connoisseur mountain bike trail, which ends remotely in the Schneckengraben.

Past the turnoff to the Krumpenalm, the road climbs over the Hühnermauer and descends again to the Fachwerk / Rothwald turnoff. Here you can choose whether to follow the road to the border between Upper Austria and Lower Austria or to shorten the round tour immediately after Fachwerk. The Fachwerk section to Wildalpen leads along the B24 Hochschwab state road (part of the R16 Salzatal cycle path).

Once back in Wildalpen, you can stop for refreshments at Hotel Bergkristall or Café Restaurant Grabner. If you would like to extend the cycle path to Hinterwildalpen, the road at the Hinterwildalpen junction leads continuously uphill and always slightly ascending past Waldbad Hinterwildalpen and the end point would be Gasthaus Zum Krug in Hinterwildalpen or the valley head Hinterwildalpen. The tour ends pleasantly with a fast downhill ride to Wildalpen.

Aus Graz: über Eisenerz, mit dem Rufbus bzw. Ruftaxi der Linie 922 weiter.

Aus Salzburg: über Liezen, von dort mit der Verbundlinie Steiermark oder dem Rufbus bzw. Ruftaxi der Linie 922 weiter.

Aus Wien: bis Scheibbs umsteigen in die MO 13 und weiter mit dem Rufbus bzw. Ruftaxi der Linie 922

Aus Linz: über Amstetten und Göstling mit der Mostviertellinie und Verbundlinie Steiermark oder dem Rufbus bzw. Ruftaxi der Linie 922 weiter.

Aus Mariazell: Verbundlinie Steiermark Rufbus bzw. Ruftaxi der Linie 198
