Ennstaler Hut

The oldest hut in the Gesäuse is the one with the apt and resonant first name "Ennstaler". In old-fashioned letters, the year 1885 is written on its wooden forehead. Whether to continue on to the Tamischbach Tower after the stop at the Ennstalerhütte is decided by gut feeling. Or the too filled belly. Depending upon.

Once you've tied your hiking boots, you're ready to go. The National Park Pavilion is the starting point for the hike to the Ennstalerhütte, which is rich in views and botanically and zoologically very pleasing. Then it goes through green forests, over yellow spotted clearings, up and up. You almost have the feeling of moving through primeval forests, so rich is the vegetation that greets you there from all sides. The shortest way to the hut is through the Tamischbachgraben, but you can also get up easily via the Mühlbach. As you like!

So cozy

The Ennstalerhütte is old. Its inhabitants are young. And accordingly pleasant is the atmosphere you encounter here. In addition to the mattress dormitory, there are also a few "private rooms", which you should reserve in advance in any case. Everything is decorated in a lovely way. So that you immediately feel comfortable and would like to stay several nights. The same feeling sets in at dinner or breakfast, which is also gladly served through the window directly from the kitchen to the outside.

National Park Pavilion

The highlight of the lumberjack village Gstatterboden is a well put together package: The National Park Pavilion. Here you can eat well, drink and enjoy the panorama on the sun terrace, as well as borrow (e-)bikes, find out about the National Park and what it has to offer at the information desk, set off on mountain tours, or visit the effect-laden exhibition "Die Planspitze - Berg der Gegensätze".
