Of course there is always an easier way on every mountain. With more than 500 km of hiking trails and one of the highest densities of mountain huts in the Eastern Alps, nothing stands in the way of a hiking experience lasting several days in the only Styrian National Park. The whole Gesäuse in one go is best experienced on the Gesäuse Hut Tour. From hut to hut and even completely flexible (no fixed places to stay overnight, numerous variations and completely mobile without your own car), the alpine Gesäuse is more beautiful than ever to hike.

More information
We are, of course, aware that the most convenient and fastest means of transport is still your own car. However, we ask you to first check the possibility of public transport and soft mobility and to leave your own car at home as often as possible.
At Rohrauerhaus, we follow the signs towards Pyhrgasgatterl, where we return to Styria. Via Bacher Alm, we walk partly on forest roads and partly on hiking trails until we reach an open alpine pasture area below Arlingsattel. We continue downhill along the forest road to Ardning Alm, where we can stop for refreshments before the last stage to Admont.
At the huts, we take the path to Ardning; from there, we follow the cycle path eastwards to Frauenberg. In Frauenberg, we walk down the road to the Enns and cross it at the Mödringbrücke bridge. After 500 m, we turn left onto the dirt road to Admont. An idyllic path follows the Enns in the direction of the river to Admont. In Admont, we walk past the Fischlschwaigerteich pond to the main road and turn right to our starting point.
