More information

A9 Phyrnautobahn  to the Ardning/Admont exit and from there past Frauenberg, approx. 10 km to  Admont.

Or via Leoben, Vordernberg, and Eisenerz to Hieflau and from there via the B146 westbound through the Gesäuse to Admont.

A1 Westautobahn to the Ybbs exit and from there south through Scheibbs, Lunz am See, Göstling an der Ybbs and Palfau to Hieflau. From there via the B146 west into the Gesäuse and to Admont.

Via the Kaiserau Landesstraße from Admont to Kaiserau.
We start our tour at the parking lot of the family ski area on the Kaiserau. The ascent runs parallel to the family run at the Brunntallift. At the fork, we follow the signs to the right and continue to a small stream, where there is a sign saying “Skitour.” We then climb through the forest via the Wagenbänkalmen to the summit of the Lahngangkogel.
From the often spectacularly snow-covered ridge, it goes northeast and down to the Klinkehütte, which is, however, closed in winter. Caution: do not ski off the ridge to the south or southeast into the Flitzengraben! It is impassable and you would have to climb back up to the Kalblinggatterl!

The descent from the Klinkehütte is either via the steep slope or via the forest road, which is not cleared in winter, back to Kaiserau, where we stop for refreshments at the Sportalm.
