Driving Directions by Car From Vienna: >A2 towards Semmering >S6 towards Klagenfurt until St. Michael junction >A9 towards Salzburg ...From Graz: >A9 towards Salzburg ...From Linz: >A1 to Voralpenkreuz >A9 towards Graz ... From Munich: >A8 Munich-Salzburg >A1 towards Linz to Voralpenkreuz >A9 towards Graz ...From Nuremberg-Passau: >A3 Nuremberg-Passau-border >A8 towards Graz to Voralpenkreuz >A9 towards Graz ... ... each time exit at Liezen. This leads after the roundabout in Liezen onto the B320 Ennstal federal road towards Schladming! At the second intersection before the shopping center, turn left towards Lassing.
From Lassing, you roll along gravel roads through the districts of Treschmitz and Wieden heading towards Döllach. After crossing the main road, you join the R42 bike path for about 600 meters, which ends at the main road. You now follow the main road for 1.7 kilometers before turning sharply right onto the paved path up to Mitterberg. Now it’s time to pedal hard! You climb step by step up Spiegelsberg, and soon the view of the mountains opens up. A break with a view of the Grimming is highly recommended, because soon you’ll be heading even higher! You leave the paved road shortly after passing a farm and turn steeply left into the forest. Now you’re enticed by wonderfully green paths and valuable shade. At just over 1,000 meters above sea level, you “circle” the summit of Mitterberg. Short trail sections rated S1 to a maximum of S2 make this tour really adventurous. Less experienced bikers can simply get off briefly and push through the tricky spots.
Passing by the Jakob Chapel, you slowly make your way back toward civilization. Speaking of slowly: Please choose your pace wisely. Hikers, children, and dogs also love to roam the popular trails. Once you're back on the paved road, it’s a quick ride downhill to Altlassing, passing by the bathing lake. If you’re looking to cool off, you can stop at the lake restaurant or dip your toes into the refreshing water. From the district of Moos, the route climbs again up to Wieden and then returns to Lassing, which you already know from your start. This time, however, you ride below the village square and make your way toward Strechau Castle. The MTB tour passes below the castle, but a detour isn’t far. Heading south of the castle (or with a short push from the castle back to the trail), the especially attractive path takes you down Burgberg (S1). Once you reach the bottom, turn toward the water treatment plant, pass the building, and disappear into the fairytale-like riverside forest of the Palten.
On the country road, you'll head back towards Lassing and soon join the R42 bike path, which takes you back to Lassing at the starting point.
