Leisurely and family-friendly hike from GH Donnerwirt/Bergsteigerfriedhof to Kölblwirt along the Johnsbach.

This short hike offers a beautiful view of the mountaineering village of Johnsbach and the surrounding Gesäuse mountains. Thanks to the easy trails, it’s a hike suitable for the whole family.

From Gasthof Donner, follow the road into the valley; after the hairpin bends, the marked sunny side trail leads towards the mountain. In the Kaltenbachgraben, where the forest road ends, we descend over the wooded mountain ridge and walk across meadows to the Kölblwirt inn.

Also visit the Johnsbach parish church with the historic mountaineers' cemetery!
