A solitary, beautiful and family-friendly tour with magnificent views! A wonderful, unmanaged alpine pasture with opportunities to climb the magnificent mountains of the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern!

Walk up over meadows, always following the red-white-red markings, up the steep trail through the forest until you reach a forest road on which you can comfortably walk to the Gewürzalm hut.

Stay left in Oppenberg and continue for approx. 4 km into the Gullinggraben.

Start at the large sign "Gewürzalm-Hütte"

At the large sign "Gewürzalm-Hütte or Seekoppe" there is a small car park on the left of the road. Parking space for approx. 5 cars

From the car park we climb up across meadows - always following the red-white-red markings. The trail begins to climb steeply and leads to a steep forest path that takes us up into the high valley with the "Seekoppe" towering above. The trail leads to a forest road on which we walk comfortably to the Gewürzalm hut.

You should also be well prepared for changeable weather.

Packing your backpack correctly makes things much easier:
Pack heavy items first. Your water bottle should always be easily accessible in a side pocket. Everything you need frequently, such as sunglasses, your smartphone, or hiking map, should be packed on top.

The unmanaged Gewürzalm is the starting point for fantastic hikes in the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern such as the Seekoppe or the Hochrettelstein!

Oppenberg is difficult to reach from Rottenmann as there is no public transport.

Rottenmann can be reached by train with regional trains.

Rottenmann can be easily reached via the motorway. From there, signposts lead to Oppenberg.
