The night sky in the Gesäuse is one of the darkest in Europe. Finding your way here without artificial light requires different senses, such as hearing, touch, or smell. How do we cope with this, and how do animals adapt to the darkness?

Easy hike
Weatherproof clothing, sturdy shoes; flashlights are not necessary – the hike will be conducted in complete darkness!
Can I bring my four-legged friend?
Bringing dogs is not allowed.
Is the night hike taking place in all weather conditions?
Yes, because we believe our National Park Gesäuse is an experience in any weather!
Do I need a flashlight?
No, the night hike takes place in complete darkness. Our Rangers naturally have a flashlight with them.
