Kino beim Weidendom

Cinema at the Weidendom: Strudel, film & stars

Th., 20.08.2026 from 20:30 o'clock
Open-air cinema in the willow dome about climbing legends and young wild ones

Open-air cinema under the stars of the Gesäuse – featuring three short films about climbing in the region:

“Always at the Limit: The First Ascent of the Dachinierer by Michi Kameter”
“Barbara Zangerl: Out of the Shadow of the Masters”
“The Gesäuse – Wild and Untamed”

In between, moderator Hanna Giraudo talks with mountain guide René Guhl about the history and future of climbing in the Gesäuse: from the history of first ascents to new first ascents, from mental strength and women in the mountains to the question of how much new the rock faces can still withstand.

Afterwards, there will be sweet and savory strudels from the Villmannsdorfgarten Rottenmann. Plus stars. Plus goosebumps.

Free admission!
