Unter fachkundiger Anleitung tauchen kleine und große Besucher:innen in die wilde Seite des Nationalparks ein.
Drei unterschiedliche Programme ermöglichen Besucher:innen einen spannenden Einblick in die Tier- und Pflanzenwelt des Nationalparks zu bekommen: „Die Reise in den Mikrokosmos Wasser“, „Abenteuer Wilde Wiese“ oder „Wildnis erforschen im Auwald“.

Research program 1: The journey into the microcosm "water"
Immerse yourself in the exciting world of aquatic life. A water sample you have taken yourself can be "examined" under a microscope. In the process, you will discover tiny creatures that you have never seen before in this size.
Research program 2: Explore wilderness in the floodplain forest
Go in search of wilderness in the floodplain landscape around the Willow Dome and learn which trees like to get their feet wet and which rare bird species breeds nearby.
Research Program3: Adventure Wild Meadow
A National Park Ranger will show you how to explore a wild meadow and find iridescent beetles and bees in search of nectar, as well as Russian bears and red-winged snare-shrikes.
Cost for research programs (11:00, 14:00 and 16:00):
Adults: € 7,00
Children and teenagers up to 15 years: € 5,00
Family ticket (max. 4 persons): € 12,00

Opening hours: (the Weidendom is freely accessible year-round, supervised visitor program at the following times)
01.05.2026 - 30.06.2026: Saturday, Sunday, public holidays, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each
01.07.2026 - 13.09.2026: daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
14.09.2026 - 30.09.2026: Saturday, Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM each
The research programs take place during opening hours at 11:00 AM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM.
Special appointments outside of opening hours, as well as special programs for groups, bus groups, and schools, will be organized at the information office in Admont, Tel. +43(0)3613/21160-20, info@nationalpark-gesaeuse.at
The parking spaces in the Gesäuse National Park are subject to a fee (day ticket € 7.00). More information about the parking spaces can be found here. General information regarding access to the Gesäuse National Park is available here.
Directions: The visitor center is located on the federal road B146 directly at the turnoff to Johnsbach, directly opposite the Gasthof zur Bachbrücke.
For GPS users: The Weidendom does not have its own address. The best is to enter the address of the Gasthof zur Bachbrücke: Krumau 97, 8911 Admont.
For traveling to our events, we recommend public transportation. Alternatively, during the summer months, the Gesäuse Sammeltaxi (+43 3613 21000 99) can be used.
