Ennstalerhütte
Information
For every age
The oldest hut in the Gesäuse is aptly named "Ennstaler." The year 1885 is inscribed in old-fashioned letters on its wooden facade. Whether to continue to the Tamischbach tower after the station at the Ennstaler hut is decided by gut feeling. Or by a full belly. Depending on which it is.
Once the hiking boots are laced up, it's time to go. A starting point for the scenic as well as botanically and zoologically rewarding hike to the Ennstaler hut is the National Park Pavilion. Then it's through green forests, over yellow-speckled clearings, climbing higher and higher. One almost feels as though moving through primeval forests, so rich is the vegetation that greets you from all sides. The shortest route to the hut runs through the Tamischbach valley, but you can also get there easily via the Mühlbach. As you wish!
So cozy
The Ennstaler hut is old. And correspondingly the atmosphere one encounters here is "rustic." Everything is charmingly decorated. So much so that one feels at home right away and would love to stay for several nights. The same feeling arises during dinner or breakfast, which is sometimes served directly through the window from the kitchen to the outside.
