My name is Kerschbaumer Ulrike
I am the mother of four children and grew up in this house in Oppenberg, which carries many precious memories of my childhood. My childhood was shaped by freedom, nature, and the feeling of being welcome. Today I live in Stainach with my husband and the two younger children.
Back then, I was allowed to be loud, run, stomp, scream, roll in the snow, play with branches and cones, hike, and play with water. Later, my children were able to experience all of that as well. They had space to move, to be loud, and to explore the world with all their senses.
Today I enjoy the peace and nature, consciously perceive the silence, the rustling of the leaves, the clear air, the slow pace. Life has become quieter, but it is filled with closeness and warmth.
My father was a passionate collector. Old things held special significance for him, and through them, he was able to keep the past alive. Each found object contained a story, memories of people and times that shaped him. This love for things with history has deeply impressed and influenced me – it makes me feel the connection between yesterday and today in a special way. The rooms in the house are decorated in different guilds, and each tells its own story – a vivid retrospective of what was.
From all this grows my desire to pass on this feeling: freedom, security, and a connection to nature – a way of life where one can arrive, breathe deeply, and simply be.
