A challenging circular mountain bike route across the Magdwiesen, past the Müller Huam and the Grazerberg. Varied forest sections, beautiful views and scenic descents make for a special experience of the great outdoors.
The Grazerberg MTB loop via Magdwiesen is a varied circular route for ambitious mountain bikers. The route winds through the peaceful woodland and alpine pastures around Mautern, past the and across the expansive Magdwiesen. As well as challenging climbs, cyclists can look forward to sections offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The combination of forest tracks, gravel roads and varied scenery makes the tour a special experience in the Erzberg-Leoben region.

From Vienna:
Take the A2 Südautobahn and the S6 Semmering Expressway to Leoben West. Continue on the B113 via Trofaiach to Mautern in Styria.
From Graz:
Take the S35 Brucker Expressway to Bruck an der Mur, then the S6 to Leoben West and continue on the B113 to Mautern.
From Salzburg/Liezen:
Take the A9 Pyhrn motorway to Traboch or St. Michael, then take the B113 to Mautern.
From Carinthia:
Take the S36 Murtal expressway to St. Michael, then take the B113 to Mautern.

The tour starts at the Mautern Town Hall in Styria. From there, the route initially follows forest tracks and minor roads through the Rabengraben valley and on towards Liesingau. The climb then begins along easily navigable forest tracks towards Magdwiesen. The route winds through varied woodland and offers frequent beautiful views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
The highest point of the tour, at around 1,115 metres, is reached via Magdwiesen. This is followed by a varied descent along forest roads and gravel tracks towards Grazerberg. From there, the route continues downhill and along minor roads back to the starting point in Mautern. This circular tour combines challenging climbs with enjoyable descents and is particularly suitable for mountain bikers in good physical condition.
