Singspiel: Bastien und Bastienne
Mozart's “Bastien and Bastienne” is being reinterpreted as a modern beer romance from Göss with lots of humor, feeling, and musical charm at the KulturQuartier Leoben.
The Leoben Music and Art School presents on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 7.00 p.m. in the Cultural Quarter Leoben an extraordinary reinterpretation of Mozart's singspiel “Bastien and Bastienne”.
From the classical opera emerges a lively beer romance from Göss: Between hops, heartbeats, and a wink of “beer spirit,” a modern love story unfolds, full of jealousy, humor, and emotion. With a fresh staging, lots of wit, and a reference to the life world of young people, the operatic classic is retold in an entertaining way.
The performance is created under the direction of the class of Anita Vozsech, who is also responsible for the staging. Participants include Alexander Dietrich, Barbara Hafellner, and Doris Stütz, accompanied on piano by Massimo Parise.
Look forward to a varied music theater evening that connects Mozart with regional charm and an original idea.
