The Poetry Slam is back in Leoben! On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the City Theater Leoben will transform into a stage for a literary competition full of creativity, humor, and emotions starting at 7.30 p.m..
Whether it's wordplay in dialect, touching poetry, rhythmic rhymes, or sociocritical texts – at the Poetry Slam, entertainment meets depth. Each performance is unique, and the audience will experience a varied evening between high culture and cabaret.
With this comeback, Leoben continues its successful Poetry Slam tradition, significantly shaped by the late cultural award winner Günter "Tschif" Windisch. Together with the Slam Collective Graz, the city of Leoben is bringing this popular event format back to Erzberg-Leoben.
Look forward to high-caliber slam poets from Vienna, Germany, and Graz, as well as brave newcomers who can participate in the competition through the open list. The audience will decide the winner – true to Poetry Slam tradition.
