Mineralienmuseum Ritzinger-Museumsführung
Discover the fascinating world of sparkling crystals and rare minerals from the Styrian Erzberg and the Alpine region during a guided tour of the Eisenerz Mineral Museum.
At the Mineralienmuseum Eisenerz, visitors can expect an impressive journey into the world of minerals and crystals. The museum is located in a lovingly revitalized building from the 15th century in the historic old town and uniquely combines historical architecture with modern exhibition design.
During the tour, you will discover extraordinary treasures from the depths of the Styrian Erzberg – including the famous white and blue iron blooms, delicate needle aragonites, and the largest vermillion crystal ever found at the Erzberg. The exhibition is complemented by valuable finds from the Alpine region and other parts of Europe, as well as artistically crafted iron bloom boxes, which were once painstakingly created by miners. Many of the displayed minerals come from decades of collecting by Franz Ritzinger and tell fascinating stories about the formation and diversity of the alpine mineral world.
The holiday tours will take place on Wednesday, July 15, Wednesday, August 26, and Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 2:30 p.m. at the Mineralienmuseum Eisenerz. Registration is required no later than 2 hours before the start of the tour at +43 650 34 31 024.
