Märchen: Die Schneekönigin
The Young Stage Leoben presents “The Snow Queen” after Hans Christian Andersen, a fairy-tale theater experience about friendship, courage, and the power of love.
With "The Snow Queen," based on the famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, the Junge Bühne Leoben, under the direction of SteinÖllinger, presents a touching story about friendship, courage, and the power of love.
The starting point of the tale is a magical mirror made of ice that makes everything beautiful appear ugly and everything bad appear beautiful. When the mirror shatters, countless shards spread across the world. One hits the heart and eye of the orphan boy Kay, who then changes and is eventually kidnapped by the mysterious Snow Queen to her icy palace.
His friend Gerda bravely sets out to find him. On her journey, she encounters a fairy, a prince, and a princess, as well as bandits. With the help of a bandit girl and a reindeer, she finally reaches the Snow Queen's castle, where she finds Kay nearly frozen. Only her tears can warm his heart and break the spell. Together, they begin their journey home and realize that they have matured on their way.
