Konzert: Very Old Stoariegler Dixielandband - Tschäss aus dem Trichter
The “Very Old Stoariegler Dixieland Band” will bring Dixieland, swing, and plenty of humor to the stage at the Leoben City Theater on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 7.30 p.m. with “Tschäss aus dem Trichter.”
Look forward to a concert evening that is as musical as it is humorous: The “Very Old Stoariegler Dixielandband” returns to the Stadttheater Leoben on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. with their program “Tschäss aus dem Trichter”.
A year after their successful debut at the “kleine Staatsoper”, the legendary formation once again delights with their unmistakable blend of captivating Dixieland, swing, slapstick, and a generous portion of nonsense. Since their founding in March 1976 at Stoarieglberg in Fürstenfeld, the band has stood for musical skill and top-notch entertainment. It is no wonder that Peter Rapp referred to them as the “funniest jazz band in Austria”.
The audience can expect a varied program featuring Dixieland classics by Louis Armstrong, Chris Barber, Sidney Bechet, and Louis Prima, as well as beloved evergreens like “Hello Dolly”, “Ice Cream”, “Oh When The Saints”, “Struttin’ With Some Barbecue”, and “Yes Sir”. The concert will also include arrangements by Spike Jones and Mickey Katz, along with surprises such as the Danube Waltz, the Shoe Shining Song, and new arrangements from “Indiana” to the “Beer Barrel Polka” (“Rosamunde”).
The band led by Johannes Hödl looks back on an impressive history – from successes at the Styrian Band Competition to joint performances with Fatty George and Oscar Klein, and television appearances with Karl Moik and Andi Borg.
