A musical journey full of adventure
A journey around the world in 80 days? No problem, thinks the English gentleman Phileas Fogg and bets £20,000 that he can accomplish this task. After all, the Suez Canal has opened and the railway across the USA has been completed. But then his servant quits, and the only replacement is a boy who doesn't even have a name and calls himself Passepartout - "Anywhere".
The mismatched pair sets off on the journey. By ship, train, coach, and even on the back of an elephant, they experience all sorts of adventures, rescue an Indian princess, and realize they can learn a lot from each other. Additionally, they are pursued by a detective in their race against time, who believes Fogg to be a bank robber and tries everything to apprehend him.
After 80 days, they finally reach their hometown London, but have exceeded the agreed time limit by five minutes. How Phileas Fogg still wins the bet, and furthermore, finds his happiness is a surprise to everyone...
