Ride with the ERZBERGBAHN from Vordernberg to the ERZBERG!

Our classic planned trips take place on all Sundays from July 5 to September 6. The trips start at the Vordernberg Markt train station, pass through the Präbichl, and end at the Erzberg train station. During the stay at the Erzberg train station, there is also the possibility to participate in a Hauly ride (except on July 12, 2026). Advance registration is mandatory!

The route is truly unique: Over eight masonry viaducts - up to 32 meters high and 117 meters long - and through five tunnels with a total length of 2.5 kilometers, the railway winds with gradients of up to 71 promille around and through the Styrian Erzberg. High above the roofs of the villages and far away from public roads. The highest railway station in Styria, the Präbichl train station at an altitude of 1204 meters above sea level, is touched by the Erzbergbahn as well as the Raumsauklamm near Eisenerz. Unforeseen views of the Styrian Erzberg as well as the mountains of the Eisenerzer Alps and the Northern Limestone Alps arise during the journey with the railbus.
