The traditional festive mass and devotion in honor of Saint Barbara invite everyone to celebrate the mining traditions together on Friday, December 4, 2026, in Leoben.

As part of the Barbara celebrations, a ceremonial memorial event in honor of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of miners, will take place on Friday, December 4, 2026. Together with traditional associations such as the Trachtenverein Steirerherzen Seegraben, the Knappschaft Steirerherzen Seegraben, and the local population, the mining tradition of the region will be preserved.

At 9:00 a.m., the festive service will begin at the Stadtpfarrkirche Leoben St. Xaver. Following this, there will be a devotion at the Barbarakapelle in Leoben-Seegraben, for which a free bus shuttle will be offered.

The closure of the celebrations will be the Barbara festival at the social club of the Trachtenverein Steirerherzen Seegraben (Veitsbergweg 1, 8700 Leoben).
