Autumn tours at the Wild Mountain

When autumn arrives at Wilden Berg Mautern, the animal inhabitants begin their preparations for the cold season. Starting from September 18, 2026, special autumn tours will invite guests for the first time to learn about the different winter strategies of the animals and observe their changes directly in the animal park.

Every Friday, visitors will learn interesting facts during the approximately 1.5-hour tour about how the animals prepare for winter. While some gain winter fat, others develop a particularly dense coat or store supplies. The tour begins each time at 10 o'clock at the mountain station and offers exciting insights into the wildlife of Wilden Berg.

The number of participants is limited to a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 20 people. The tour costs 6 euros for adults and 2.50 euros for children born in 2011 or later. Prior registration is absolutely necessary due to the limited number of participants. Remaining spots will be allocated based on availability on the day of the event until 9 o'clock at the box office.

The animal park and all attractions at Wilden Berg Mautern are open in 2026 until November 1 inclusive. Until September 13, daily opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. From September 17 to October 18, it is open from Thursday to Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and from October 22 to November 1, daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
