95. Barbarafeier

A festival in the spirit of mining tradition: On Saturday, November 28, 2026, the miners from Vordernberg invite you to the already 95th Barbara festival in the Barbarasäle Vordernberg. With solemn ceremonies, lived customs, and musical accompaniment, the patron saint of miners, Saint Barbara, will be honored.

The celebrations begin at 4.00 p.m. with the arrival of the guests of honor at the Barbarasäle. At 4.45 p.m., the traditional Barbara parade will set off towards the parish church. There, at 5.00 p.m., the festive Barbara high mass with the exhibition of the relic of Saint Barbara will take place.

Another highlight follows at 6.00 p.m. with the impressive mountain parade and the entrance of the flags into the Radwerk IV. Subsequently, at 7.00 p.m., the Barbara celebration begins in the Barbarasäle.

At the center of the festive evening are the traditional leather jump according to mining customs and the tapping of the new Barbara beer from the Göss brewery. For special moments of enjoyment, the exclusive wine bar in the Barbarastollen provides.

The musical framing will be taken care of by Norbert Emmerstorfer with his "Knappentrio," which gives the festivities a lively atmosphere.

All friends of mining tradition and interested parties are warmly invited to experience this special folk festival and to honor the long history of mining in Vordernberg together.
