The KulturQuartier Leoben is the starting point for expert-guided tours through the historic old town of Leoben.

Immerse yourself in the rich past of the second largest city in Styria and its long tradition in mining and metallurgy with city tours. The walks through the old town last about 60 minutes and are offered in both German and English.

Leoben was and is an important location of the Austrian iron and steel industry, which is still reflected in the city's history today. Particularly fascinating is the old town center, which was once established in the Mur loop and now extends on both sides of the river up to the mountain slopes.

During the tour, you will learn exciting details about historical events, such as the preliminary peace of Leoben, which was concluded here between Napoleon and the representatives of Austria. Discover significant buildings such as the Leoben City Theater, the oldest continuously performing theater in Austria, or the Schwammerlturm, which with its mushroom-shaped dome is a distinctive landmark of the city.
