The "Glücksweg" (the trail of happiness) in the "Glücksdorf" (happy village) Hatzendorf - circular trail in search of happiness. Follow the traces of happiness and find out what famous personalities have to say about happiness.

Starting at the Malerwinkl, you will find several sculptures, along the way there are 26 happiness boards with sayings that are meant to inspire reflection, and resting places that invite you to linger. Right in the village there is a lucky donkey that you can stroke, and next to it a fountain where you can make a wish. Walk through the village, along meadows and forest edges, cross the lucky bridge with the dove of peace. You will also find the patron saint of water, John Nepomuk, here. Let's go in search of happiness together, happiness can be very simple... A "happy trail" has some happy stories: naturalness, sustainability, regional products, manageability and art.

Starting from the Malerwinkl opposite the agricultural college Hatzendorf, we walk on the circular trail through the village centre, the forest and meadows along streams. We go to various stations and keep our eyes open. Always in search of happiness ... You can generally start anywhere along the path, as it is a circular route.

Smart backpack packing makes hiking life easier: always question the equipment - what do I really need? Pay attention to a balanced load distribution. Carry heavy items as close to your body as possible. Put things that are needed often - such as sunglasses, camera or hiking map - in the top lid compartment. Take enough liquids with you and stow them in a side pocket for easy access. Don't forget a snack or muesli bar for energy. Don't forget cash!

An emergency kit belongs in every rucksack! First aid kit, mobile phone with fully charged battery, hiking map or GPS device for orientation, small pocket knife.
Protection against heat and cold - it is always advisable to dress according to the "onion system"! Cap, sun cream & sunglasses, thin cap, change of clothes, rain jacket.
A good hiking boot is a perfect companion and should never be missing! Don't forget blister plasters just in case!
If necessary, hiking poles are recommended!
