Wine steward in St. Peter/O.
St. Peter a. Ottersbach
The Weinwarte Sankt Peter am Ottersbach was completed at the beginning of 2004. The Perbersdorfberg on the southeast Styrian hill wine route was chosen as the location for this unique building.
Viewing tower in the shape of a wine glass
The wine tower in Sankt Peter am Ottersbach is a 28-meter-high wooden structure shaped like a wine glass. The viewing tower serves as a starting point for hikes and symbolizes the fine wines produced around Sankt Peter am Ottersbach. From the observation platform at a height of 25 meters, climbers are rewarded with an impressive panoramic view.
In the field of vision are the Windischen Bühel and the Steiner Alpe in Slovenia, the Straden and Gleichenberger Kogel, the volcanic cone of Riegersburg, and on sunny days, the view even extends to the Hungarian plain. With the help of the clearly arranged directional panorama boards on the plateau, mountains and notable landmarks in the distance can be easily identified. Of course, every "summit climber" can also sign the guestbook of the viewing tower as a memento.
The wine tower is freely accessible.
