Weinhandlmühle in Straden

Since 1848 in family hands in Dirnbach near Straden! The Weinhandl mill was built by the Kornberg castle lordship around the year 1700. Since 1848 it has been owned by the Weinhandl family. It was only around this time that the pressing of pumpkin seeds began, as previously only hemp and linseed were known as oil seeds.

With the introduction of hydraulic pressing devices, which replaced the previously laborious work of manual kneading and pressing, around 1950 the seed oil became the most used salad oil among the Styrian population.
