Family business Suppan: Dairy farming and direct marketing in Unterauersbach.
Near the Zinskapelle in Unterauersbach lies the dairy farm of the Suppan family, embedded in the gently rolling landscape of the Thermal & Volcanic Region. The dairy farm was extensively modernized by Herta and Alois Suppan between 1999 and 2000 and adapted to contemporary animal husbandry.
Today, the barn offers around 20 cows generous space conditions. Straw bedding, a cow calving box, and a modern milking facility ensure structured processes in daily operations. The barn area is complemented by a yard that can be used year-round, allowing the animals to have outdoor freedom of movement at all times. A cow comfort brush and hay from the own meadows are part of the equipment. In the summer months, the cows additionally graze on the surrounding meadows and receive supplementary silage feed.
In 2016, Stefan Suppan decided to expand the business with direct marketing. Since then, dairy products have been offered directly from the farm. Reusable jars are used, which allow for repeated use and reduce packaging waste.
The Suppan dairy farm combines agricultural tradition with modern barn technology and transparent direct marketing - an authentic insight into the dairy industry of the Thermal & Volcanic Region.
