1st Austrian Volcano Museum

With the rock collection and the easy-to-understand explanations, you can immerse yourself in the volcanic past of the Volcanic Land and understand how the volcanoes shaped and still shape the landscape and the people. Because even today the volcanoes are more tangible than you think!

In two rooms, graphics and photos show the formation of the East Styrian volcanoes. The documentation provides insight into the volcanism of 17 to 2 million years ago, which still characterizes the landscape of our region today.

All in all, the Styrian Volcano Land offers an exciting variety in the Southeast Styrian museum landscape. From ancient rock collections to astronomy or to contemporary art, the colorful arc spans.
