Gossendorfer Christmas Cradle Path

As the days grow shorter and Advent unfolds its quiet magic, the Gossendorfer Krippenweg invites you to let your soul dangle and experience this contemplative time mindfully. 63 lovingly designed nativity scenes make the recreational area of Gossendorf a truly special nativity village – created by families, clubs, and people who visibly express their connection to the region.

Along the three circular paths – between 2.4 and 3.5 kilometers – red-marked stars guide the way to the unique nativity scenes. Each one is a small work of art made from natural materials, including the mechanical fitness nativity, the firefighter nativity, the knitted nativity, the musical nativity, and even a living nativity. The path is particularly atmospheric in the evening hours – lantern light makes the hike a warm, touching experience.

A special place for reflection is the STILLE RAUM in the Maria-Hilf-Chapel, framed by white themed banners. Here, visitors can write down their thoughts for Advent and hang them on the “Tree of Silence” – a moment of peace amidst the pre-Christmas everyday life.

The nativity path is freely accessible from the 1st Advent Sunday, November 29, 2026 to the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6, 2027 – entry is possible everywhere. In addition to the circular paths, there are also 12 outdoor nativities that make Advent palpable in all its quiet beauty.
