Thin, frail, with a mustache and wearing an old Norwegian sweater, he lives in a dreary big city and writes funny stories. While his friends grow older, take on responsibilities, and have children, Mitmannsgruber remains stuck in time, continually postponing adulthood. He wants to stay in his mid-twenties forever.
One day, he aimlessly wanders through the stages of Austria and Germany, appears on television, wins awards, and receives underwear anonymously. But can art save the directionless good-for-nothing? Or could the good-for-nothing actually save art?
“The Strange Case of Benedikt Mitmannsgruber” tells the story of a young antihero who finds love, encounters conspiracy theorists, and learns in isolation what truly matters: his dog, his girlfriend, and avocado spread. A program about masculinity, identity, and alienation.
