The Murtaler Blend at Rathausplatz in Vienna

From Thursday, April 9, to Sunday, April 12, 2026, the Murtal Region will be a guest at the Steiermark Spring festival on Vienna’s Rathausplatz, bringing Murtal hospitality and a vibrant mix of action and tradition to the state capital.

The oldest Murtaler

Styria is making its biggest appearance yet at Vienna’s Rathausplatz. 1,600 Styrian hosts are representing the “Green Heart” at the event. From a mountain bike course to the world’s smallest movie theater, and everything in between—including culinary delights and indulgences—everything that makes Styria special is on display here. This time, the Murtal region is taking center stage alongside the Red Bull Ring and its partner businesses, showcasing just how diverse and multifaceted our region is.

Of course, performers from the Murtal region will also be thrilling audiences on the main stage. On Thursday, Zaumgspüt—featuring Maximilian and Paul Pacher, as well as Anna, Julia, and Marie Liebminger—will bring Murtal tradition to the stage. The Weißkirchen Music Association will march with around 60 musicians on Saturday, April 11, at Rathausplatz, and in the late afternoon, the Blechquetscher will demonstrate just how much the Murtal Valley loves to party. On Sunday, April 12, the Oberes Murtal Traditional Costume Association will round out the program and bring the traditional performances of Styria to a close.

The team at the Murtal Tourism Association looks forward to informing visitors in Vienna and showcasing the region’s beauty with charm. Exhibitors from the region include the Tourism Association itself, the Red Bull Ring, the Aqualux Therme Fohnsdorf, Edelsteine Krampl, Tauroa, and the Oberzeiring Show Mine. The Wieserhof will bring time-honored crafts to Vienna with a demonstration of felting and spinning on Thursday, April 9, 2026. Culinary delights will be provided by the Winterleitenhütte, which will also demonstrate its skills during a cooking demonstration, as will Martin Steinkellner from the Steirerschlössl. Refreshments will be provided by Thalheim and the Sabathyhütte.

The travel agency Tieber Reisen is offering a trip to the Styrian Spring Festival on Saturday, April 11, so that guests from Styria can also enjoy the event to the fullest.

“It’s all about the mix—that’s the motto of our region as a vacation destination. We showcase precisely these contrasts between tradition and modernity to our guests in Vienna as well, ranging from fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled adventures to down-to-earth customs. Our largest appearance to date at the Styrian Spring event allows us to generate even more attention for our region and, hopefully, create even more incentives for vacationers.”  Isabella Painhapp, Managing Director of the Murtal Experience Region

The team at the Murtal Experience Region is looking forward to welcoming many guests and engaging in conversations at this year’s Styrian Spring festival, taking place from April 9–12, 2026 (with a pre-opening on April 8, 2026) at Rathausplatz in Vienna.
