A pleasant journey
Anyone who combines a trip to the 2026 Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring with a comfortable journey can look forward to a perfect Formula 1 weekend. Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation. In recent years, regional shuttles, intercity bus transfers with stops in several federal states, and travel by train have proven to be excellent options. These attractive alternatives to driving your own car are available, and fans can enjoy the last few meters to the racetrack by bike. All information on travel to and from the event, the program, and tickets is available at www.redbullring.com.
We recommend arriving early—the S6 is down to a single lane in some sections
Those traveling to the Formula 1 race by car can rely on a well-established traffic management plan. Coming from Vienna, several sections of the S6 Semmering Expressway will be reduced to a single lane throughout the race weekend. Delays are expected in both directions at the Semmering Pass and the St. Michael interchange near Leoben due to construction zones. If you’re coming from Upper Austria, it’s recommended that you take the exit at Trieben (follow the signs) to bypass the St. Michael interchange. Plan for a longer travel time, especially on Saturday and Sunday, so arriving before 8:00 a.m. is strongly recommended. Those traveling by private vehicle should make full use of the seating capacity in their vehicles and follow the signs to the parking lot. A central motorcycle parking lot with biker changing rooms is available for motorcyclists. Details on how to get there are available at www.redbullring.com/de/events-tickets/formel-1/arrival.
Take the bus from your front door to the Red Bull Ring – “Take the Shuttle"
Take the bus from your front door to the Red Bull Ring—“Take the Shuttle.” As an alternative,
public transportation is available for a stress-free trip. Both regional shuttles and intercity bus transfers are in place. During race weekend, fans can board the buses in several federal states. Additional city shuttles will be in service on Qualifying Saturday and Grand Prix Sunday. Find all booking information and the “2026 F1 Stops” at www.redbullring.com/f1shuttle.
By Train and Bike to the Grand Prix
Especially if you’re coming from Vienna, we recommend taking the F1 intercity shuttles—or the train: The destination station for the Austrian Grand Prix is Knittelfeld. From there, free shuttle buses will take you to the Red Bull Ring. The buses run from Friday through Sunday, every 20 minutes from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and every 30 minutes from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. (until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday). If you’re bringing your bike, you can continue on to bike parking areas around the Grand Prix grounds. Alternatively, for drivers with bike racks, a Park & Bike lot is available at Therme Fohnsdorf, accessible via the S36 exit “Judenburg Ost.” Marked bike paths lead the way to the Formula 1 track.
Camping for that festival vibe. Campers are advised to head to
Spielberg as early as Wednesday or Thursday. To ensure traffic is spread out as evenly as possible, campers will be guided by signage on the S36 Murtal Expressway on Thursday. Departure is possible on Sunday starting at 8:00 p.m. Details: Arrival to the campsite I Red Bull Ring
