"Bad Aussee - Grundlsee - Gallhof - Hintenkogl - St. Leonhard"

This varied Nordic walking tour starts in the center of Bad Aussee and leads along the Traun river to the fishing pier in the municipality of Grundlsee. The route continues via Gallhof, Hintenkogl, and St. Leonhard back to the starting point. A harmonious mix of promenade paths, meadow trails, quiet side roads, and forest sections offers perfect conditions for gentle endurance training in nature.

The route leads through the Bad Aussee spa gardens via the Gamsensteg, Tauscheringasse, and Richard-Eybner-Promenade, following the signs towards Grundlsee. At the heating plant, the route runs a short distance along the Grundlseer Landesstraße before joining the shady Waldruhe-Promenade on the Traun river.

At the fishing pier, turn right onto the main road until you reach the turnoff to Pichl-Kainisch on the left. There, the route turns right again into the quiet Gallhofstraße. Along the Hintenkoglweg and Reithgasse, you will reach St. Leonhard Church—a cultural highlight of this Nordic walking route.

Via Kreuzangerweg, the trail runs partly across meadows and steps back to the center of Bad Aussee. This section is particularly appealing for those who want to combine walking with poles with more intensive arm use. Please note in winter: The meadow path is not cleared. Alternatively, you can return via Reithgasse or from St. Leonhard church square along Gasteig-Landesstraße.

This tour combines physical activity in nature, quiet vantage points, and gentle climbs to create a pleasant and informative exercise session in the Bad Aussee running area.

From the Fischersteg further to the Grundlsee and wherever you like.Possibly back with the public bus or a cab.

From Fischersteg turn left up the hill to Mosern. When you reach the road, continue left and via Untertressen and Obertressen back to Bad Aussee.
