Fishing at Ödensee
Bad Aussee
The Ödensee between Bad Aussee and Bad Mitterndorf is a typical forest bog lake, surrounded by dense forest and lush riverside vegetation.
Nature has generously equipped our holiday area with the romantic Ödensee (20 ha) and the nature-protected high moors (Natura 2000). What is striking about this lake is the exclusively underground inflow. The outflow Ödenseetraun flows into Bad Aussee into the Traun.
FISHING REGULATIONS
Principle: Fishing is to be practiced in a sportsmanlike manner!
- Important to note
The fisherman/woman accepts these fishing regulations and commits to taking note of and adhering to their content.
Any changes made during the duration of a license period are binding on all fishermen.
1.1. The catch card (daily card, three-day card, season card) is only valid in conjunction with the legally required fishing card for Styria. All cards must always be carried and presented upon request to the fishing supervisors and control agents entrusted with oversight.
1.2. Each member is also obligated to show their catch to the oversight authorities upon request, even during multiple daily checks. Any refusal, as well as grossly rude behavior towards the fishing supervision authorities, can lead to the immediate withdrawal of the catch card.
1.4. Every fish must be recorded in the catch statistics or via hejfish in the catch report immediately after its possession (killing). Every fisherman is required to maintain and submit the catch statistics. This serves to enable proper management of the water (stock control).
- Closed Seasons, Legal Sizes, Catch Restrictions, Removal Quantities
3.1. The legal closed seasons and legal sizes apply with the following exceptions:
Bach- rainbow trout – 30 centimeters
char – 30 centimeters
for carp, a legal size of 35 centimeters applies
for pike, a legal size of 60 centimeters applies.
Injured fish must always be killed immediately and count towards the catch result.
3.2. Fish that are caught during their closed season or below the legal size must be released immediately in a careful manner. If there is doubt about their survival, they must be killed, cut up, and disposed of immediately in a sportsmanlike manner. Furthermore, they must be recorded in the catch card with a corresponding note (but do not count towards the catch result).
3.3. Removal: For season card holders, a total of 15 fish (three fish per day) (trout, char, carp, pike) may be removed per month. Daily card and three-day card holders may take three fish per day.
The removal of live fish is generally prohibited.
3.4. When using a landing net, no more than three fish may be kept in the landing net at any time. The removal of live fish is generally prohibited. - Fishing Equipment, Bait
4.1. Each holder of a catch card may use two rods laid out visibly.
One fishing spot is allowed per person. Both fishing rods must be arranged in such a way that they can be monitored by the rightful member.
