Winzer Vulkanland Styria

For the 4th time, the Winzer Vulkanland Steiermark association, under the chairmanship of Christoph Neumeister, is publishing a tourist magazine in which the wine and the wineries of the Vulkanland Steiermark wine region take center stage. The 4th edition was presented by Christoph Neumeister (chairman) and Bianca Lamprecht (project management) at the Gesamtsteirische Vinothek in St. Anna a. A.

This time, the magazine focuses on a special theme: The DAC origin system introduced with the 2018 vintage, which officially made the Vulkanland Steiermark wine region a DAC area in 2019. The magazine takes its readers on a journey across the Vulkanland Steiermark wine region: The nine wine towns Oststeiermark, Riegersburg, Bad Gleichenberg, Kapfenstein, St. Anna, Klöch, Tieschen, Straden, and St. Peter are introduced with their wine-specific features and tourist destinations. Thus, the magazine not only tells about local specifics regarding wine, terroir, and the new origin system but also informs about sights, points of interest, hiking tours, and culinary hotspots in the wine towns. The magazine is intended to be of value not only for wine lovers but also to serve as a tourist guide for guests from and in the region traveling from the east to the south (and vice versa) of the wine region. Hence, the motto on the cover page: "Winemakers invite you to discover, enjoy, and arrive in the Vulkanland Steiermark wine region."

A novelty and at the same time a special feature of the 4th issue: In order to make the magazine usable over several years, years and event tips have been deliberately omitted. This avoids a quick "expiration date". Encouragingly, the overview map of the winemakers in the association grows with each edition. The Winzer Vulkanland Steiermark association now has over 90 members.
