Lecture on the history, culture, and present of the Styrian Slovenes and the Gottscheers.

What do these two ethnic groups have in common, and how do they differ? Learn more about their history, languages, traditions, and their contribution to the cultural heritage of Central Europe. Anja Moric, a staff member at the Slovenian Institute for Ethnic Studies in Ljubljana, will speak about the Gottscheers. Susanne Weitlaner, chairwoman of the Article VII Cultural Association, will introduce the Styrian Slovenes instead. The lecture highlights the historical development, linguistic and cultural peculiarities, as well as the role of the Styrian Slovenes and the Gottscheers in the past and present.
