Reading & Conversation with Nava Ebrahimi
Nava Ebrahimi, born in 1978 in Tehran, is considered one of the important voices in German literature. She received the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize in 2021. For "Sixteen Words," she was awarded the Austrian Book Prize, Category Debut, as well as the Morgernstern Prize. She studied journalism and economics in Cologne and worked as an editor at the Financial Times Deutschland and the Kölner Stadtrevue. Since 2025, she has been a regular columnist for the Süddeutsche Zeitung. She delves into the life of a small town in Emsland and intertwines stories of six individuals into a captivating social novel about the question: how do we remain humane when life becomes increasingly difficult?
