Mike Markart, born in 1961 in Graz, lives in Stainz. He spent every free minute of his first 16 years in Radkersburg, where he still has many relatives and friends. Mike Markart has a variety of literary publications to his name: most recently "Venezianische Spaziergänge" in 2023, "Grado. The Place Called into the Sea." in 2025. During a 3-week stay, he now wants to prepare "his Radkersburg" literarily. For his work, Mike Markart has been awarded, among others, the "Würth Literature Prize," the "Karlsruhe Radio Play Prize," and the "Graz Literature Scholarship."
