A short but rewarding mountain bike tour in the heart of the Ausseerland region leads to the idyllically situated Weißenbachalm. The route offers a combination of moderate climbs, natural gravel roads, and the opportunity to stop for a leisurely break at the Weißenbachalm hut. Highly recommended for a short MTB adventure with panoramic views.

The starting point is at the Fischersteg car park. From here, the route initially leads on asphalt towards Bad Aussee. After the Weißenbach bridge, the route branches off to the left towards Kainisch. Turn right at the carpentry workshop, cross the bridge and enter Grubenstraße. This straight route continues to the junction with an easily navigable gravel road.

After crossing the Weißenbach stream, there is a shorter, steeper climb that requires some stamina. Soon you will reach a bench on a forest road that comes up from below. Here, continue uphill to the left, always following the forest road, until you reach the Weißenbachalm. The alpine hut is ideal for a break with regional delicacies and a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains.

The return journey follows the same route back to Grundlsee.

This mountain bike tour is ideal for a relaxed afternoon tour, also ideal for e-biking in the countryside. It combines sporting enjoyment of nature by bike with a cozy place to stop for refreshments.
