The Tauplitzalm Loop is an easy but scenic bike tour in the Ausseerland region, ideal for a relaxing day of cycling with views of the mountains. This route combines a comfortable ascent by chairlift with a scenic descent via the Tauplitzalm Alpine Road and a return trip via the Salzkammergut Cycle Path R19 – perfect for recreational biking, e-biking off-road, or a leisurely cycling adventure in the mountains.

The tour starts at the valley station of the Tauplitz 4-seater chairlift, where bikes are transported free of charge. Once at the top of the Tauplitzalm, the route leads westwards on a paved road – with magnificent views over the high plateau and the surrounding peaks.

After about one kilometer, you will reach the large parking lot at the Tauplitzalm. From here, the approximately ten-kilometer descent via the Alpenstraße down to Bad Mitterndorf begins.

Once you reach the toll booth, the signs for the Salzkammergut Cycle Route R19 will guide you back towards Tauplitz. Along the route, the Kulm ski jump invites you to take a short break at Auszeit Ausseerland with its impressive panorama. The R19 continues through the typical landscape of the Ausseerland region to the starting point at the valley station of the chairlift.

This route is particularly suitable for those who want to experience a quiet, panoramic mountain bike pleasure tour during their mountain bike vacation in Ausseerland.

The helmet belongs to every tour.
Consider in advance what equipment you need: warm clothing, rain and wind protection, repair kit and first aid kit belong in the backpack. Also a charged cell phone.
