The tour starts at the toll booth in Bad Mitterndorf and leads along the paved Tauplitzalm Alpine Road in several serpentines for about ten kilometers up to the highest lake plateau in Europe. Already during the ascent, an impressive panorama opens up with views of the Dachstein, Grimming, and the surrounding mountains.
